Challenge

Auntie Solutions is a Finnish company which offers well-being packages for other business to increase the well-being of their employers. In this project we thought about the service package selection as a whole; contents, names, descriptions.

As the result we created new well-being packages, removed overlapping, made a more simple customer journey path and created a prototype for preliminary information survey.

In this course project, I worked as the project manager and team leader, ensuring our team stayed on schedule and met all deadlines. I was also responsible for communication with Auntie, managing client relations throughout the project. Additionally, I analyzed data from Auntie’s user survey and contributed to the prototype development by designing visually appealing well-being packages to enhance their attractiveness.

We began the project by thoroughly researching Auntie’s services and exploring all existing well-being packages. I assessed customer needs from both business and end-user perspectives. Our team then conducted benchmarking of well-being packages from similar businesses, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.

Through benchmarking, we evaluated overlapping content within Auntie’s packages and prioritized them based on their relevance to the user survey results. These insights guided our design decisions and overall project direction.

Research and Benchmarking

One key issue we discovered was the negative tone in Auntie’s package communication, which often focused on “what’s the problem.” In contrast, competitors used more neutral and professional language, making their messaging feel more supportive and approachable.

Through benchmarking, we also identified overlapping content in Auntie’s packages and prioritized them based on relevance to user survey results. These insights guided our design decisions and project direction.

Building on our research and workshop findings, we created a new vision for Auntie’s well-being packages. Below are the concepts we developed, each with a brief description showcasing its content and value.

Preliminary survey

During our benchmarking, we found Auntie’s wide range of packages to be overwhelming for users. To address this, we developed a concept for a preliminary information survey designed to simplify the selection process. This survey helps users better understand Auntie’s offerings and easily identify their own needs without having to browse through each package individually, reducing cognitive load.

The survey also presents a clear and simplified customer journey, giving users a better understanding of what to expect next and how the service will work.

Survey

In the survey, users are prompted to select statements that best reflect how they feel. Based on their responses, the survey recommends the most suitable well-being package, making it easier for users to find the support that fits their needs.

What I Learned

Throughout this project, I gained valuable experience in managing a team and navigating complex user relationships. As the project manager, I developed skills in time management, ensuring that we met deadlines while maintaining high-quality work. Communicating with Auntie also taught me the importance of understanding a client’s needs and translating those into actionable solutions.

I also deepened my understanding of research methodologies, particularly benchmarking and the topic of cognitive accessibility. Analyzing Auntie’s well-being packages and comparing them with competitors allowed me to identify key areas for improvement and better understand the user experience.

Client Feedback

The group, in a very short period of time, was able to identify the root problem of the assignment and suggest solutions which were well-supported by comprehensive research. The outcome of the project gave new insights into us as a company and overall exceeded my expectations.
