Meltlake is a company that provides Microsoft consulting services. Our team was tasked with conducting a comprehensive content analysis and benchmarking report to evaluate the effectiveness of Meltlake’s current website, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and gather strategic insights from competitors in the Microsoft consulting industry.
Our project was divided into three main phases. We began with a thorough analysis of Meltlake’s website. This involved examining the site structure, identifying content strengths and weaknesses, and noting any missing elements. We evaluated how well the website communicates Meltlake’s operations and values. Key findings were organized and visualized using Figma to provide a clearer understanding of areas for improvement.
In the second phase, we conducted a detailed benchmarking analysis of Finnish Microsoft consulting companies. We reviewed competitors’ websites to assess their content strategies, job pages, tone of voice, text clarity, and how they communicate their industries and values. This helped us understand how Meltlake could enhance its online presence.
Based on our analyses, we developed targeted recommendations to improve Meltlake’s website. Our suggestions focused on enhancing content clarity, relevance, user experience, and search engine visibility. These recommendations were designed to strengthen Meltlake’s brand communication and engagement with users.
Cloudriven: “Our specialty is developing customers’ business using the capabilities of Microsoft cloud services.”
Advani: “We offer a local IT environment and digital work services for companies of all sizes with international expertise.”
Digital: “We are a software and service company that combines the possibilities of technology and the abilities of people to build a smarter business and society and a sustainable future.”
To address these challenges, we recommended providing a clear and concise description of Meltlake’s services on the homepage, directly answering the question of what Meltlake does. Communicating the industries Meltlake serves and showcasing how they support clients within these sectors would help users understand the company’s areas of expertise.
We also suggested clearly communicating Meltlake’s core values and how they influence work culture and client relationships. Storytelling could be used to illustrate how these values are put into practice. Additionally, dedicating a section or sub-page to sustainability and ethical business practices would highlight actions Meltlake takes to operate responsibly, serving as a competitive advantage.
Expanding on the technologies and tools Meltlake uses, such as Outlook, Word, and Power Pages, would improve search engine optimization and align with user search behavior. Enhancing website usability by implementing filtering options for blog posts by topic or industry would improve navigation and the overall user experience. Lastly, developing a dedicated internship section or expanding the job page would attract younger job seekers and make opportunities easier to find.
The result of this project was a comprehensive report containing actionable insights and strategic recommendations. By implementing these suggestions, Meltlake can clearly define and communicate their services, engage a broader audience through clear industry representation, strengthen their brand by showcasing company values and responsibility efforts, and improve website usability and user experience. These improvements are aimed at enhancing Meltlake’s online presence and creating a more engaging and informative user experience.
As the team leader, I was responsible for guiding the project from start to finish. I coordinated our research efforts, ensured the team stayed on schedule, and led the communication with the client. I organized the workflow, facilitated collaboration, and helped to make our findings into clear and actionable recommendations.
This was my first time leading a project on a content and benchmarking analysis. Through this experience, I learned how to manage a team effectively, structure complex research tasks, and translate analytical insights into practical solutions. It strengthened my leadership skills and gave me valuable experience in service design, strategic content analysis and on the topic of cognitive accessibility.
